Additional Arena Information

Recorded in Todd's current home state of Hawaii, 'Arena' is yet another notable addition to Rundgren's remarkable career as a performer, songwriter, and producer. The album showcases his unique songwriting style and sonically captures the essence and energy of arena rock with bombastic, guitar-driven tunes like 'Mountaintop', 'Strike' and 'Mad', while the anthemic song 'Mercenary', transports you to a stadium with its epic chorus, with 'How Do You Like Me Now?' resounding to every seat in the house.

What Customers Say About Arena:

You will start moving with the beat as you grab something to use as a drum. Reminiscant of the review title with hard rock from his earlier NAZZ days. All I can say is listen to it. Todd has been a shaper and a sullen force for music in the last few decades. A runt he is not. He enjoys life and you can feel it in his music. His music is like a pile driver at times and a smooth glass without ever hitting each other flowing in and out of style. This album of music is one of the finer ones of his careers.

I just LOVE "Today". It's been years since I enjoyed an album this much. Well, the songs I didn't care for grew on me after a while, and often times those are the songs I enjoy longer and/or more than other songs.

In this day and age it doesn't seem like good music like this is released all that often any more, or if it is, I don't seem to get to hear it.I first heard cuts from this on XM Radio about 6 weeks ago. This and "Liars" are my best two TR albums so far. Soon after I got this CD and have been playing TR CDs most of the time ever since, rather than XM radio.

At first I thought there might be a few songs on this that I didn't care for much. I love the vocals, drums, and guitars. I got a few of his older 70s albums too and while I think they are real good, I'm more into these newer albums. To each his own but I'd give this album as many stars as I possibly could, and to me, they are well deserved stars.

"Gun" is one of the first songs that hooked me, and later "Courage", "Weakness", and now "Today". It's all a great album, at least to me.

I will never order anything from AMAZON again as they don't stand behind their vendors and have been NO HELP in obtaining me a refund DVD legacy took my money never sent cd.

Not mush mellow and reflective here, but I recommend Arena for it's rock strength and breadth of subject to all those who think their good years are behind them. I have followed Todd's music from Nazz to his solo work in the early 70s and wondered what this disc was going to be like. Buy it, and turn it up. For Todd they are still out ahead. As a treat I decided to see him live first where he played about every track on his Arena CD. An awesome experience, and to know he still has things to say and has all his musical chops is a tribute to his longevity as a musical icon.

Do I have to give one star. How do they stay in business and why does Amazon tolerate such shoddy customer service. Next time, I probably should order from Best Buy. I have never received my order and don't know if or when I will. Buyer beware with this company. Hard to review something I never received although they were quick to bill my credit card. The seller has never responded to my email. Judging from the reviews of this seller, I definately would not order from this company again.
